Mochi decided early this morning that he was all tuckered out. So
while I wrote one of my blogs about being in paradise here, he had a good sleep
on the window seat with a spectacular view of the garden, not that he was
looking. But I took it all in and smiled all morning. Like us here, the sleep
is deep and restful and all of us, man, woman, boy and beast awaken refreshed
and ready for whatever kind of weather comes in late Spring. And it got very
sultry and hot quite early and was dramatically uncomfortable upstairs because
we aren’t used to that kind of heat yet. But downstairs, it is a bit darker and
a bit cooler and so the canine found just the right spot to join me and as I
typed he slumbered away.
Outside Julie had called for her darling Lulu cat to come to her.
She’d been sick and was just coming around but a hen was following her thinking
she’d get a hand fed bite to eat. And poor little Pepin has been having a rough
time lately but he too occasionally ventures forth to enjoy the outdoors as his
health deteriorates. He was quite a fighter in his day and got into all kinds
of trouble but now it’s different and his life force is slowing down and we’re
trying to give him the best quality of days and nights we can while he endures
whatever he’s suffering from. So no shots today of our sweet male cat.
These animals and the cows in the paddock are going to soon have a milking cow for company, that here in New Zealand is called a house cow, even though it won’t live in the house. Life is wonderful today and we’re loving being here.
